What do you wear?
We try out best to blend in but not look like we’re attending a funeral. Mostly black and darker clothes like dress pants and a shirt and tie
Do you charge for travel or multiple locations?
Every wedding day is unique and some have more locations than other so we don’t discriminate that or charge travel for it. If your wedding is more than 50 miles from Lancaster PA or in a major city then travel fees may apply but are evaluated on a case by case basis. I have extensive experience traveling and photograph destination weddings all around the globe.
How many pictures do you take?
I never count! I just shoot because I shoot digital and there’s no end to how much “film” I have. On average you’ll receive 80-100 images per hour of shooting. I do snap more than that but I do you the favor of taking out the outtakes like blinks, test shots, duplicates and the like. All the images are edited for color, exposure, sharpness and white balance.
How do we book you and what's your payment plan?
To make sure that you’ve snagged me for your wedding date I require a $500 retainer and electronically sign the wedding contract. You're able to make your own payment plan between booking and balance due if you wish as you'll have an online account to keep track of payments and balance.
When will we get our pictures?
I’m proud to have one of the fastest turn-around times in the wedding industry with proofs and an album preview being ready 3-4 weeks after your wedding and the majority of my couples with their wedding album within 6 months. I’ve even been know to show a few sneak peak images before that 3-4 week mark too!
We love you, but will we love your 2nd photographer?
You will! All of the second photographers I worked with have been working with me for years. It takes years to train them to uphold the same quality of work that you expect and the type of friendliness and professionalism you’d want around with you the day of.
I've seen your pictures from a variety of weddings, but can we see a whole wedding day from start to finish?
This is one of the most important things you can ask photographers you’re interviewing so the answer is yes! You’ll want to make sure that I know how to take amazing photographs in any situation, of anyone and of anything. Wedding photographers need to work fast and be able to photograph in every circumstance possible and I pride myself in being able to do just that.
I don’t want to spend an hour taking family photos, do I have to?
Absolutely not. In fact, because of how efficiently I work on the day of and the help I give you in preparing your family picture list, most family photo sessions on a wedding day are complete within 10-15 minutes.
Do you have liability insurance?
Absolutely and we’ll be happy to provide your venue with a proof of coverage.

Your Wedding is unique, and your photographs will be too.
I'm very much looking forward to hearing your love story!
Welcome. My name is Jean-Maurice. If you are going to hire me, you should also know a little about me..!
First of all, I am French. But also very proud to be a US citizen. I am telling you this so that when we talk you are not surprised by my Gaelic accent.
I have started taking Pictures at the age of 14 as an apprentice in France. Working with many master photographers, I honed my craft doing weddings, portraits, and nature photography in England, Ireland, and of course France.
Upon coming to America, I continued my education with seminars, and workshops shooting side by side, with some of the world best photographers. I wanted to open my own business. Since we capture slices of time, I decided to call it " Time Passages Photography ".
I specialize in photojournalistic, contemporary, natural, and unobtrusive wedding photography. This means that most photos are taken as the events unfold with little or no posing.
However, we also think that some posed pictures with family and friends are essential. So we will provide those as well; often using landscape features and striking architecture as natural backdrops.
Our photography style is to approach your wedding with a fresh perspective that documents your special day and reveals spontaneous expressions and emotions.
To me, a wedding is about so much more than the scheduled events that take place. It's also about those unexpected moments that you will not find on any shoot list -- moments that make your wedding unique and that you will remember for years to come.
We the help of my team, you will have a Stress-Free and enjoyable Storybook Wedding Day.
My (Time Passages Photography) goals and business philosophy are simple. Surpass my clients expectations by offering them a new bold dimension to wedding photography with unparalleled value, creativity, quality and customer service.

It's not easy to see what makes a great wedding photographer.
As with anything you can buy, there's a good, better and best version. Think shoes: Do you like Payless or Christian Louboutin?
Let's make sure you find the CLB of wedding photographers.
Here are 4 categories that set apart the good, better, best photographers.
This should be the first item to think about as it's the base-bone of your photography choice. Here's what you should be looking for.
- Does the photographer have good quality images (not too dark, too light, orange, etc)?
- Do the photographs have an altered color or over-effecting to them that's not natural or timeless?
- Does the photographer fit the style of what you're looking for (soft and dreamy, loud and fun, funky and sexy, etc)?
- Do all the photographer's weddings have that similar style that you're looking for? You don't want to hire someone who isn't consistent in giving you the quality and style of photos that you're paying for.
- Do you notice wrinkles, blemishes, unattractive angles, awkward poses or distracting backgrounds in the pictures?
- Does the photographer absolutely guarantee that their 2nd photographer at your wedding will provide the same quality of images?
* A good way to see this for yourself is to ask to see an entire proofing gallery and make sure that the quality of photography is consistent throughout like this one of mine.
Your wedding album is your first family heirloom that you'll pass on to your children and grandchildren and will be in your family's homes for generations to come. How can you make sure the quality of your products will stand the test of time? Here's the tricks to spotting poor quality albums that probably won't last more than five years:
- Look at the seam of the page. Is there cracking, pinking or discoloration of any kind?
- Look at the corners and sides of the pages. Are they peeling up or not laying flat?
- Look at the book closed and view the sides of the pages. Are they waving or warping in any way?
- Look at the printing itself. Is it colorful, vibrant and matching to the quality of the images you saw on their website?

You simply can't place a value on an experienced professional on a wedding. Your photographer needs to know what will happen before it does, anticipate moments, be flexible on the spot, know how to help you schedule your day-of time-line, and be able to conquer any lighting condition. I would say that about 50-100 weddings is what it takes to acquire and perfect these skills and intuitions. Here are some questions to ask:
- Have you ever done a wedding like mine?
Note, it doesn't matter if they've done a wedding at your venue. Because of changing light and circumstantial situations, that's really irrelevant to an experienced photographer. But having them have experience in your type of wedding (Jewish, traditional, Ethnic, etc.) can mean the difference of them knowing what shots to get.
- What do you do when ________?
Fill in the blank with any crazy thing you think might happen on your wedding day and see if the photographer can think on their toes!
- Do you put together family photos?
Your photographer should discuss with you what family shots you want before the wedding and make suggestions as to what shots to get based on your family members and the amount of time you have for pictures. This shouldn't be your job the day of! I make sure to go over this with all of my brides well before the wedding.
- Do you have a videographer/cinematographer you work with regularly?
You'll want your visual artists to be in-sync the day of so that they don't get in each other's way, but instead better your final product by working together. I'd say my cinematographer husband and I have this down pat!
You might find categories 1, 2, and 3 great but end up with a horrible experience over all. Did you know some brides go 3 months without seeing their wedding proofs and years before they get their album?? Here's what to ask to make sure that doesn't happen to you:
- How long will it be to see the proofs?
If they say six weeks, then ask to see proofs from the wedding they shot six weeks ago and see the date on the invitation picture they took. Don't get caught with someone who over-promises and then doesn't deliver! My brides see their proofs in 3-4 weeks.
- How long does it take to get the album?
Find out the album process step-by-step. Often times photographers make you choose your wedding album pictures which could leave you frustrated, over-whelmed and procrastinating the process causing you to not have your wedding album until years after your wedding. My brides have an album design within weeks of their wedding.
- Are they a boutique studio?
Your wedding is unique and important and you want a photographer that thinks the same way and doesn't just pile you in with one of the 100 brides they're photographing that year. The advantage to having a "Boutique-style" photographer (one that shoots less than 30 weddings a year on average) is that you'll receive more attention and care each step of the way and your wedding photographs will show more of your unique couple personality rather than a cookie-cutter style that is done the same way at every wedding.
- Do you like your photographer?
Is their personality one that you'll love working with over the next year or two - because it's practically like you're going to date them for a few years! Your photographer is one of the wedding vendors that you'll have contact with the most before, during and after your wedding, so make sure they have a personality that's knowledgeable, calm and has pleasant demeanor that you'll want around you for a while.
